The Story of Young Argentine Waitress Luciana Barroso

Argentine Waitress Luciana Barroso: Luciana Barroso journey from a young Argentine bartender to the wife of a Hollywood star is a heartwarming tale of fate and love.

Luciana Barroso was first married to fellow Argentinian Arbello Barroso. During their marriage, they welcomed a daughter named Alexia Barroso in 1998.

The Story of Young Argentine Waitress Luciana Barroso

At twenty years old, she was a single mother, abandoned by Arbello Barroso. Struggling to make ends meet, Luciana worked as a bartender in Miami, far from her native Argentina.

In 2003, while Damon was in Miami shooting the film “Stuck on You,” Barroso was working as a bartender.

While Luciana was working at her counter, a young man came up to her and requested to stand behind the bar to escape from the crowd.

He explained that he was an actor and felt overwhelmed by the journalists and people in the restaurant who had recognized him.

Unfamiliar with the concept of “fame,” Luciana, who had no idea who he was, agreed, but with a condition.

“You can hide out here, but you need to be useful!”

The young man obliged, helping her prepare cocktails, serve customers, and even wash and dry dishes.

His presence drew more customers, resulting in substantial tips for Barroso that night. Throughout the evening, the two talked and got to know each other. Towards the end of her shift, Luciana asked him his name.

“Matt Damon,” the young man replied.

Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso’s love story quickly blossomed, leading to their engagement in September 2005, and then on December 9, 2005, they had a private civil wedding ceremony at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau.

They have since built a loving family, including Luciana’s daughter Alexia, whom Matt adopted, and their three daughters, Isabella (June 11, 2006), Gia Zavala (August 20, 2008), and Stella Zavala (October 20, 2010).

Despite Matt Damon’s status as a Hollywood A-lister, Luciana prefers to keep her personal life private.

She does not have social media accounts and rarely gives interviews. However, she occasionally accompanies her husband to support his projects on the red carpet, showing her unwavering love and commitment to their family.

After residing in Miami and New York City, they settled in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood in 2012. In 2018, Damon bought a penthouse in Brooklyn Heights, New York City, for $16.5 million.

However, in 2021, they sold their Pacific Palisades residence to former Warner Bros. CEO Ann Sarnoff for $18 million after it failed to sell at the original $21 million price.
